Overwatchs annual Summer Games event is here, bringing back Lucioball and introducing a batch of summer-themed skins including a spectacular ice cream-themed look for Orisa, which can be earned by winning games.
Summer Games 2020 will run from Aug. 4 to Aug. 26 in Overwatch. The Lucioball game mode is back, with a few changes. Lucios cooldowns are shorter, his boop and punch range are increased, he moves a little faster, and jump pads launch players higher. In short, its a faster, more intense game of Lucioball this year.
But theres also an even faster, more chaotic version of Overwatchs soccer-like game: Lucioball Remix. The new version of Lucioball has at least two balls in play at all times, but more balls will spawn periodically. Players positions are also not reset when someone scores the action just keeps going after a goal. Blizzard also introduced new mercy rules for Lucioball: In the standard mode, if a team is has a five-point lead, the game ends. In Lucioball Remix, the team ahead by 10 points wins.
Players can unlock new Summer Games 2020 cosmetics by winning games across Overwatchs various modes for the next three weeks. Here are the requirements and rewards:
