Inter could end their 20-year-plus association with Nike and sign with Adidas, according to a report in Italy.
The Nerazzurri have been linked to the American sportswear giant since 1998, when Nike first produced Inter’s shirt ahead of the 1998-99 season.
However according to website FCInterNews. It, the club are due to hold talks with the company over a possible renewal.
Nike currently pay Inter €10m a season, far behind most of the European heavyweights, and, most importantly, far behind domestic rivals Juventus, with Adidas paying the Bianconeri €51m a season.
The website reports that Adidas could be interested in sponsoring Inter, with their only foray into the Italian market being their association with Juventus since they parted ways with Milan last summer.
Beppe Marotta, currently general director with Inter, played a key role in bringing the German manufacturer together with Juventus when he was director of sport at the club several years ago.
It is hoped that Marotta could pull off the same feat for Inter.
