— Last day for applications to be sent in is Friday August 21 —
As we gear up for the launch of the new Football Italia website, this is a one-of-a-kind, career-defining opportunity for the right candidate to not only helm an industry-respected – and almost 30-year-old – football media brand, but to also have a significant say on its very exciting future.
Across a working week that will shift from rota-set news writing to general editorial duties and establishing and maintaining high-level contacts within the game, this is a dynamic and sometimes demanding role that will both challenge and motivate the right personality.
With previous experience within the journalism industry, you will be ready to handle day-to-day management of a busy, news-based media outlet, whilst also appropriately managing future editorial content for weeks and months ahead.
Bringing a strong work ethic and high editorial standards to what will be a high-profile role, the right candidate will be ambitious, adaptive and creative, in recognising the huge potential that Football Italia, its audience and its brand represents.
You will not only be translating from written Italian, but also communicating in spoken and written Italian, so a fluent understanding of the language is paramount, as is a high level of written English.
The role is full time, with an approximate start date in October. It is remote based but with media opportunities that may involve travel in the UK and Italy, and regular in-person meetings with the rest of the management team. Salary is competitive and available upon application, with performance-related bonuses included. The role is contracted and includes a pension plan and annual paid holiday.
Requirements for the role include:
– Previous experience within the journalism industry, including writing to a high level in the English language
– Fluency in Italian – you will be translating from Italian as well as communicating in spoken and written Italian
– Previous team or project management experience
– Strong work ethic
– High editorial standards
– Ambition, flexibility and creativity
To apply, please send to [email protected] (recruitment[at]tiromedia[dot]co[dot]uk) the following:
– A complete and up-to-date CV
– A cover note telling us about yourself and why you are right for this role
– Recent examples of your work in English
Please note that due to the number of applications that we typically receive, those that do not provide all three of the above will not be taken further. This is a unique role that brings with it a unique, three-stage application process – including a brief Italian-language interview, English-language interview and quick news trial – that we appreciate your patience during.
This role is best suited to someone based in the UK, Italy or within an hour of the UK time zone.
