EA Access, the subscription service that offers a vault of more than 100 Electronic Arts titles to its members, will soon be available to PC players via Steam. It was originally pegged for a spring 2020 launch, when EA and Valve announced plans last October to reunite after nearly a decade apart.
No specific launch date was given in Mondays announcement. Its all part of EAs broader return to Steam, which the publisher left when it launched its Origin storefront in 2011. Last fall, EAs Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launched on Steam; in June, Electronic Arts put more than 25 back-catalog games on Valves marketplace, among them BioWares Dragon Age Series and Star Wars Battlefront 2. The same month, EA launched its Command & Conquer Remastered Collection on both Steam and Origin, with mod support through the Steam Workshop.
EA Access originally launched for PC subscribers as Origin Access in August 2014, available through EAs Origin launcher. The service began on Xbox One in 2014, and joined PlayStation 4 a year ago. It costs $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
Origin Access also has a premier tier of service for $14.99 a month, or $99 per year. That library includes some non-EA games. It doesnt appear to be an offering on Steam, as all of the games touted there are published by EA.
In addition to the vault of games, EA Access subscribers get a five-day free trial with new games the weekend before they launch. Members also get a 10% discount when buying from EA, whether full titles, downloadable content, or microtransactions.
