Dana White says he “doesn’t give a s—t” if people are upset over his friendship with President Trump.
The UFC president didn’t miss a beat this week when TMZ asked about possibly losing fight fans because of his unapologetic support for Mr. Trump.
“I don’t give a s—t,” he said when approached by the entertainment website. “If you don’t like me because I’m friends with this guy, that’s your problem, not mine.”
Mr. White has said multiple times that Mr. Trump was there for him at UFC’s inception — a time when almost no one but the billionaire wanted to host his events.
“No arenas wanted us [in the early 2000s],” he said in August 2018. “This guy reached out, and he’s always been a friend to me. The guy’s always been a friend of me. Donald Trump has never done anything remotely negative to me ever — except try to compete with me. I’m not going to say anything negative about him and I never have.”
He also was one of the few celebrities of his stature to speak at the 2016 Republican National Convention, which nominated Mr. Trump.
Mr. White added Friday that Mr. Trump is a “loyal” and “amazing” man.
