COVID-19: World slowly reopening, but officials urge caution

Lets be clear: Were still in a pandemic and  there are still many rules and recommendations that should be heeded.
But, that said, the Victoria Day weekend is offering capital region residents the chance to venture outside and take in some sights.
Parks and other facilities are opening up a bit more, but Ottawa Public Health and others are still firmly recommending that residents maintain physical distancing.
If two-metre distancing is difficult, medical officer of health Dr. Vera Etches reminded those stepping outdoors to wear non-medical cloth masks in public places.
Etches also said she didnt think it was a good idea for residents to travel to cottages in rural Ottawa or Quebec for the time being.
Everyone has made so many sacrifices and helped flatten the curve so far, she said.
We all just need to keep it up for a while longer.
While there are encouraging signs, such as a decreasing number of new cases, Etches and other health experts firmly reminded people that the virus has not left the community.
