The Nerazzurri beat Ludogorets 2-1 in the Europa League this evening with San Siro empty due to the Coronavirus outbreak in northern Italy.
“We are not accustomed to playing in an empty stadium and it’s even more difficult to keep the focus on constantly, but we got the qualification and that’s what matters,” the defender told Sky Sport Italia.
The Nerazzurri’s next match on Sunday in Serie A will also be played behind closed doors, as Juventus-Inter is still affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.
“Now we go into another very important game knowing it is perhaps ‘the game’ in Italy, Juventus-Inter, and we are up against a great team, but will be ready to have our say.
“I don’t know if the lack of a crowd will make a difference. It’s a special game anyway, although obviously it’s disappointing to be missing that atmosphere of a great fixture like Juventus-Inter.
“It’s not as if we are lacking motivation, this is the Derby d’Italia.”
