Sir Rod Stewart weighed in on the Bournemouth and Rangers furore sparked by Jamie OHaras comments on Drive on Monday.
The talkSPORT host claimed that Steven Gerrard should consider the vacant job at the Cherries, following Eddie Howes departure.
Rod Stewart is a die hard Celtic fan but defended Rangers on this occasion
OHara went as far to say the job was bigger than the role he currently holds as manager of the 54-time Scottish champions Rangers.
The expected backlash soon followed with Ibrox legend Ally McCoist unsurprisingly taking issue with the former Tottenham mans stupid opinion.
McCoist went on to make his own bold claim that there are just three Premier League clubs bigger than Rangers.
Diehard Celtic fan Sir Rod Stewart joined talkSPORT on Tuesday to give his own view on the debate – while he was having his Lamborghini cleaned, naturally.
Jamie O’Hara says Steven Gerrard should leave Rangers for Bournemouth
Sir Rod said: I just wanted to add my two bob to this Bournemouth and Rangers thing. Im a Celtic fan, you know that.
Rangers are an enormous team. You go anywhere in the world you will find a Glasgow Rangers fan club. Not so with Bournemouth. Outside of England no one has heard of them.
In that respect, Rangers is a huge club. Gerrard, if I were him, I would not leave until hed won a trophy, otherwise he will be considered a flop up here.
I think this is the best Rangers team there has been for a while and they are going to give us a serious challenge. Whether they have Morelos, or not, they are up for it.
Ally McCoist takes Jamie O’Hara to task for claiming the Bournemouth job is bigger than managing Rangers!
The man who sparked the debate, OHara, was also on Drive and defended his comments.
OHara said: You cant get away from the fact it is the Scottish Premiership and Bournemouth have been in the Premier League for five seasons. Alright, theyve been relegated but they will have the money to get straight back up, so Gerrard in one season could be a manager in the Premier League.”
Stewart responded: I think if you were Gerrard, would you not leave Rangers with your tail between your legs having been there three years and not won anything? I dont think hes that sort of guy.
OHara said: He could get sacked. If he doesnt win this season. Even hes come out and said Ive not been good enough. If he doesnt do it this season he will be a failure in Scotland.
Steven Gerrard has been Rangers manager since 2018
